I’m not the biggest fan of Romeo & Juliet when it comes to Shakespeare’s works, but this modern retelling was so wonderful that you forget entirely about the classic that it takes some inspiration from.
Skye Kilaen has a way of telling stories that I absolutely love. While the romance in this is minimal, it is the first of a series that will continue the story of the two main characters. Even without the romance being front and center, I was hooked onto this story!
I have a very complicated relationship with this book. I really enjoyed it, but I also didn’t. It’s a weird place to be, so keeping that in mind, I’ll make this a short review.
When Melanie Harlow announced that she was going back to Cloverleigh Farms and bringing the kids of the original gang to life, I squealed so loud. I have loved the Sawyer family so much that I was sad when the books ended. Sure, we got the awesome Bellamy Creek group too, but the Cloverleigh gang was who introduced me to Melanie and I wanted more. And now we have it!
The minute Teagan Hunter announced that she was writing a hockey romance, I told myself that nothing else mattered but this book. And with Puck Shy, she has delivered a wonderful story filled with her signature wit, banter, steam and humour.
I picked this book up for two reasons—the cover is adorable and the blurb sounded so good. I knew it was going to be an enemies to lovers rom-com going in, but I didn’t realise just how much I would love these characters.
I have loved my first ever Aurora Rose Reynolds book and I am, without a doubt, going to be picking up more of her books! Having Rushed be available for ‘read now’ on NetGalley, combined with this gorgeous cover, I was giddy at being able to read this one and now that I’ve consumed it in a day, I don’t know what life is going to be like without Cybil and Tanner to keep me company!
Sonia Esperanza excels at writing soft alpha males that will have you captivated from the word go and Samuel Rivera is no different.
