Catherine Cowles’ Tattered & Torn series has me in a chokehold, so you can imagine how desperately I was waiting for Shiloh’s book. And not a single minute of it was disappointing. We’ve been watching quiet and cautious Shiloh slowly find her strength through four books, so to have her be able to tell her story, see her fall in love and find the peace she’s been missing for so long was quite something.
I’ve been hearing so much about Kelly Farmer’s books, so when I got approved for this ARC, I was really excited to read it. It’s got so many great things—it’s a sports romance, rivals to lovers, second chances, single mom, opposites attract—and Kelly tied all of this (and more) together to create a really captivating story.
Excuse me while I swoon and smile again over the perfection that is Grady Miller. We spent four books getting to know this guy and he’s always been the loudest, wildest and most inappropriate character in the series. And yet, when his own book comes around, you really learn just how incredibly special he is. It’s impossible to hate or even dislike Miller, because he’s a cinnamon roll puppy and he’s so sweet.
Devney Perry (writing as Willa Nash) always comes up with the most unique and interesting storylines to put her characters through the wringer. And with The Brawl, that’s no different. This book was fun, sexy and cute; but it also tackled some pretty hard topics and was handled so well.
I feel like I’ve spent a good portion of my reading life with the Greene family, so to know that this is the last book (till the 2nd generation series comes out) makes me sad. But also happy, because all of them discovered something about themselves and they’ve found love and happiness of their own.
I’d seen so many positive things about this book, so obviously I was really excited to read it. I read and loved The Rebound not too long ago and when this was announced, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on the ARC. And it was so special and so unique.
There was so much to love about this book! And while it’s 100% a Carrie Aarons romance with all of the swoon and angst factors, I also love that this book was essentially Carrie’s love letter to the city of London.
One of the things I love about Evie’s writing is that it’s the fun kind and it almost feels like you’re just hearing Evie speak as she tells the story. Which makes me wonder what an audiobook of her stories would be like! But also, I enjoyed this one for the softness of hard Charlie and the soulfulness of beautiful Valentina.
There’s just something about Julie Olivia’s stories that make me feel all warm and fuzzy. And with her new Honeywood series, it’s constant warm and fuzzies and I am all about it. With this second book in the series of standalones, we’re treated to some very special tropes and some very special characters.
Gimme all of the romances with fat heroines, because I will gobble them up hungrily. And it’s even more special when a fat woman is writing the story, because you can feel the love and attention they put into the character. Mary brings Hannah to life so wonderfully and you root for her from the moment she appears on the page.
