I have a very soft corner for all of Carrie Aarons’ books and this one was no different. It’s a second chance romance between two people who were once married and have been divorced for seven years while trying to co-parent and just exist in the same world without letting it break them even further. Sophie and Levi were so great and Hart was fantastic.
I want to start this review by saying that I wept quite a bit through this story. That just goes to show how powerful and beautiful Ava’s writing is too. It’s a marriage in crisis story about two people with broken hearts and broken pasts trying to find their way back to each other.
Oof. This book knocked me on my backside from the minute I started reading! If it wasn’t for the need to sleep, I would have probably just read through the night and sobbed my way through most of it too. I’m still fairly new to Corinne Michaels’ stories, but I am definitely ready to get caught up in more! This one had a great balance of suspense, small towns and a swoony romance.
I want to start this review by stating that this book does not have a HEA, not in the romantic sense anyway. The Life We Almost Had is more Women’s Fiction than it is a romance novel and it’s probably on me for not paying close attention to these details when I was offered an ARC.
Know You By Heart is a marriage of convenience that turns into a marriage in crisis, forced proximity, slow burn romance that features a CEO marrying a romance novelist so they can both achieve what they’ve set out to do with their lives.
I think as my first ever Alexis Hall book, this is a good place to start! It’s got so many things that I absolutely love and what really caught my attention was the lesbian couple struggling with their marriage and solving a murder mystery in the Scottish Highlands! I mean, you read that and you know you need to get your hands on it too.
Piper Rayne have created such an amazing family with the Greene family and this series is going to be so much fun! While the first book in the series was interesting and we really got to meet all of the kids and see how the family fit into their small Alaskan town of Sunrise Bay, it’s My Almost Ex that sort of helps you feel more for these characters.
Prepare to have your heart wrenched out and tossed around before stuffing it back in your chest. Mika Jolie has woven such a beautiful story about a couple struggling through the hardest part of their marriage.
While it’s a marriage-in-crisis romance, it’s also a second chance romance. Because Freya and Aiden are giving each other a second chance. Just without all the distance and years apart from each other. Ever After Always is about love and about finding your soulmate, but it’s also about finding yourself.
