I want to start this review by saying that I wept quite a bit through this story. That just goes to show how powerful and beautiful Ava’s writing is too. It’s a marriage in crisis story about two people with broken hearts and broken pasts trying to find their way back to each other.
If I was to ever write a letter to Elsie Silver it would be to remind her that she’s killed me four (and a half, for that delicious novella that set this whole series in motion) times since I’ve met her and I am absolutely okay with it.
I can safely say this is my first ever Western Romance, because I’ve been going around telling everyone that I’m reading a historical cowboy romance and I happily forgot that this subgenre exists. But, I digress. This book was such a rush! I loved so much of it and being introduced to an outlaw who wants to retire and just take a break from being an outlaw? That is a treat in itself.
Crossing Hearts is a second chance romance featuring two stubborn, broken people coming to terms with their lives and their love for each other as they navigate the pain and struggles that come with health complications.
Sometimes you stumble across a book on NetGalley, not knowing what you’re going to get when you start and then suddenly you’re crying and feeling all the feels and falling in love with characters you’ve never met before and adding previous books in the series to your TBR and your Kindle because you just need more!
Hunter has a big city girl meeting a hot as hell cowboy in a small town – so obviously I needed it in my life! A quick read, Hunter is my first Anna Brooks book and I enjoyed it!
