My god, this book. This duet. This everything. I don’t know if my review will do this book justice, though. And before I get started, please note that you have to read the first part of this duet, because the second book picks up where that one leaves off and there’s a lot of information that you’re going to need going into this gritty romance.
Coralee June sucked me in right from the start. Also, it’s important to note that this is just the first part in a duet, so there’s a bit of a cliffhanger with lots of unanswered questions.
This is a book about love in its rawest form. It’s about accepting the faults and flaws of the ones you love so you can love them harder and stronger than they want at the time. It’s a love story about fighting against the odds to always find love in the darkest days.
This second chance, angsty romance was nothing like I expected it to be. What happens when you leave behind the love of your life and then pour all of that love into a book that becomes a bestseller? You deal with the consequences of the book.
It’s been said time and time again, but Kandi Steiner is the queen of angsty romance and it’s because she does it so damn well. Every inch of this book was filled with angst that set you on fire.
