Oof. This book knocked me on my backside from the minute I started reading! If it wasn’t for the need to sleep, I would have probably just read through the night and sobbed my way through most of it too. I’m still fairly new to Corinne Michaels’ stories, but I am definitely ready to get caught up in more! This one had a great balance of suspense, small towns and a swoony romance.
If there’s one thing that Corinne Michaels does really well, it’s write an emotionally charged story. The blurb of this book had me hooked and even though I got the gist of it from there, I was still so unsure about what was going to happen. And this book opened with pain and it was so beautifully crafted.
Going into this book, I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into. But let me just say that Corinne Michaels took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. One minute I was laughing and enjoying the Parkerson family shenanigans and dynamics and the next, I was weeping into my pillow. But when a book can make you feel so much and put you through that kind of chaos in 300 something pages, then you know you’re in for a treat. An emotional one, but still a book that you must have in your life.
Not only does Corinne Michaels have the most gorgeous men on her covers, she writes the most heartbreakingly beautiful stories that you hold onto as you read. And A Moment for Us is no different from the emotional turmoil that we were put through in Return to Us and Could Have Been Us.
Gah, this book was an absolute tearjerker. I cannot even put into words how many things Jack and Stella made me feel. It was so intense, there were moments when I was sure that I would just explode into tears because of the journey these characters were going on.
Her stories are so beautifully crafted, her characters are well thought out and complex and her plots are so captivating. I was hooked to Jessica and Grayson’s story from the minute we’re introduced to them and I loved watching them fall in love too.
