“Naughty List” by Melanie A. Smith is part of the Mine This Winter anthology that features sixteen other authors writing about love during the holidays. While you don’t have to read Tough Love to enjoy this little novella, I’ll be honest…knowing everything about Mia and Nate before reading about Joanie’s sexcapades was definitely a bonus. Plus, Tough Love is a stunning book. Much like everything Melanie writes, that one just hit the spot (my full review for that coming soon!).
Joanie lives life on the edge and she lives it hard. She goes all out and does whatever she wants, but she’s also a really loyal and generous friend. I loved everything about this woman and knowing that she and Greg get a full book of their own next year made me the happiest person alive. And then there’s Greg, a small town mountain man who is everything that Joanie didn’t know she wanted. I loved how soft and quiet Greg was, how despite all of the money to his name and everything else that he has, Greg’s just a normal dude.
“I may have gotten her to scream my name. I may have owned her orgasm. But the real truth is, Joanie Morris owns me.”
These two are instantly drawn to each other the minute they meet and from there, their relationship is the most entertaining. It’s a novella, so giving away all of the details would totally defeat the purpose. But just know that Greg makes Joanie work for it and he drags it out till she’s champing at the bit for just one night with him. Can they just enjoy one night together, though? This book is HOT. Melanie has a way with steamy scenes that does the trick every single time and she didn’t hold back with these two either.
It’s also hella funny and I cannot wait for more of these two, because it definitely looks like they’re going to be so much fun!
