Smith Kennedy. The biggest bosshole I’ve ever met.

It’s been nine months since he yelled at me and I quit as his assistant on the spot.

Now, we’re attending the same wedding and I want to avoid him as much as possible. Why is he waiting in front of the elevators like a sexy, salt-and-pepper-haired, perfect-jawlined gargoyle?

All I had to do is get past him, but I failed. He stopped my elevator, got in, and now we’re stuck.

I hope I don’t kill him. Or kiss him. I’m not sure which one is worse.

Author’s Note: This is a novella approximately 20K words in length. This includes strong language and sexually explicit situations. Reader discretion is advised. This is a standalone with no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA.

Jenny Bunting is the queen of funny, heartfelt, sexy and steamy stories. Every single one of her books has had me laughing, swooning and fanning myself all at the same time. And with the second in her Stuck in Love series of novellas, she introduces us to another pair that is going to blow your mind.

“I’m also a man with values and scruples.”

“I want your scruples all over me.”

If you’ve read Please Be Seated, then you’ve met Cassie briefly. And in In Case of Emergency, Cassie is facing off with her former boss and the man who has pissed her off and turned her on with nowhere to go. One of my nightmares is getting stuck in an elevator because closed spaces are just not okay. BUT, if I was to get stuck with the Stern Brunch Daddy that is Smith Kennedy, I think I’d survive. Especially if he melted the panties off of me with just one look. And that’s exactly what happens with Cassie.

Cassie is the kind of woman that we all wish we were, but also have in our friends group. She’s funny and sarcastic, she’s strong and independent and so badass. Smith is so dreamy, guys. I mean, I swooned at just the mention of his name. And then we got to see how soft he is, how patient, kind and generous he is and you fall in love with him all over again. Honestly, Smith is probably the only guy who could keep up with Cassie and their romance is hot, spicy and all kinds of wonderful.

“I was ridiculously, irrationally, insanely attracted to you.”

They’ve both dealt with their fair share of love and other related trauma and that’s partly what brings them together. I also love that Cassie and Smith have all this history from working together, which makes their attraction to each other so much more believable. I’m not a big fan of insta-love/-lust, but Jenny does such a damn good job giving us all the information we need to understand the complicated relationship between the two leads.

This book was ALL KINDS OF HOT. I mean… *fans self*… just writing about it and thinking about it again has me sweating at the memories of the things that Smith and Cassie got upto.

Also, I am SO excited for Reagan’s story, because omg if it’s anything like the first two, I am going to be howling as I read about her rollercoaster adventures.

Thanks to Jenny Bunting for generously providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
